    17th Infantry Brigade

    By May 1940, the 17th Infantry brigade (part of the 5th Division) was made up of the following:

     

    • Brigade HQ

    • 2nd Bn Royal Scots Fusiliers

    • 2nd Bn Northamptonshire Regiment

    • 6th Bn Seaforth Highlanders

    • A Coy, 1/9th Manchester Regiment

    • 17th Bde anti-tank company

    • 141 Field Ambulance

    • Light Aid Detachment

     

    This was a very able fighting force led by Brigadier Stopford.
